Back in June, 2011. George Hotz, the well known iPhone hacker has
started working for Facebook after he was court ordered not to develop
any Play Station hacking software. Well, He is done with Facebook and
back in the hacking business. According to BusinessInsider.
During the hackathon, I got to work with him as he built an app that allows you to see where your Facebook friends are on a map. Aviv Ovadya, a Quora engineer, was also on the team. Ovadya focused on the front end mapping part of the program. Hotz was focused on getting the API info and programming that into location data.
Well, His app didn’t win. He lost to a group of high school students.
Since the release of Limera1n, The bootrom exploit for iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, iPad, iPhone 4, and iPod Touch 4G, George Hotz hasn’t been on the jailbreaking scene. Hopefully he will return and find the long awaited bootrom exploit for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2.
Welcome Back Geohot, You have been missed.
