iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak is here. Recently we have reported how to
untether jailbreak all the A4 Devices [iPhone 4, iPad 1, iPod touch 4G
and iPhone 3GS] on iOS 5.0.1 using Redsn0w 09.10b1 and Corona 5.0.1 Untether.
Now, iPhone Dev Team has released Pwnage Tool 5.0.1 to untether
jailbreak all the A4 Devices on iOS 5.0.1 by creating custom IPSW
allowing you to preserve your baseband and remain unlocked.
PwnageTool allows you to create custom IPSW making you able to preserve
your baseband and configure IPSW with boot logos and Cydia packages
depending on their device.
Step 2: Press on “Expert mode” the top menu bar, Select your device then click on the blue arrow to continue.
Step 3: Click on “Browse for IPSW”, A window will pop up, select your IPSW and click Open.
Step 4: Now you should see the menu below, First click on “General”
Step 5: From The General Settings you can decide the partition size.
Check Activate the phone if you are not with an official carrier, then click the blue arrow button.
From The Cydia Settings you can create custom packages so you do not have to manually install the necessary them later. Just click on Download packages tab and hit refresh to display the available packages and by double clicking on any package, it will be available in the Select Packages tab.
From The Custom Packages Settings you can select package settings for your custom IPSW. [Leave it as it is] and hit the blue arrow to continue.
Step 6: Now to create your custom IPSW select build and click on the blue arrow to continue.
Step 7: Select where to save your custom IPSW file and hit “Save”.
Step 8: Now, your IPSW is being build [ it will take about 10 minutes]. Enter your administrator password when you are asked to and click OK.
Step 9: After
your custom IPSW is built, you will be asked to connect your device to
the computer. After it detects the device. Follow the on screen
instructions to put your device in the DFU mode.
After your enters the DFU mode, Pwnage Tool will tell you to open iTunes.
Step 10: In iTunes, Hold he Alt/Option key and click Restore.
Step 11: Now, Select the custom IPSW you have created using PwnageTool.
It will take about 10 minutes for iTunes to restore your iDevice to the
custom IPSW. After it finishes your device will be rebooted into
untethered jailbroken iOS 5.0.1.
How To Create Custom iOS 5.0.1 IPSW With PwnageTool 5.0.1? [Tutorial]
First you will need:- Download Pwnage Tool 5.0.1 for Mac [Torrent / Direct Link].
- Download iOS 5.0.1 IPSW firmware for your iOS Device.
Check Activate the phone if you are not with an official carrier, then click the blue arrow button.
Step 8: Now, your IPSW is being build [ it will take about 10 minutes]. Enter your administrator password when you are asked to and click OK.
