Here is a great news. Saurik, has recently started cashing iOS 5.0.1
SHSH Blobs. As you can see in the screen shot below, 5.0.1 signatures
are indeed present.
For those who don’t know what are SHSH Blobs? Here is one of our earlier posts introducing SHSH Blobs to the newbies at the jailbreak community.
Now, while you are restoring your device, you can see ‘Verifying restore with Apple’ at the top information bar in iTunes. A partial digest of a firmware file is being sent to Apple which is used to make the decision of going on with the restore or not. And By Caching the SHSH blobs you can bypass this by verifying the restore via Saurik servers instead of Apple’s.
This is an amazing feature to get right now. As the Chronic Dev Team will be releasing their iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak soon which will Apple try to patch the exploit used in the jailbreak in iOS 5.0.2 or 5.1. But with your SHSH Blobs saved on Cydia, you can downgrade to iOS 5.0.1 and stay jailbroken.
